Netdev0x12-ers..
I'm planning to drive from the Metro Boston area to Netdev 2018
(leaving tuesday, returning saturday, if you are interested
in car pooling).. and I am trying to figure out the Best Practices
for navigating Montreal, hopefully some locals on the list can share
their wisdom..
what's the neearest underground-parking-garage entrance to
the downtown Marriott@Rene-Levesque? I see a garage exit on Rue Jeanne
Mance on google satellite, but no entrance. Street-by-street driving
tips …
[View More]from the marriott would be helpful for me!
Also how does that system work? Is it the typical "get a parking ticket
on the way in, and pay on the way out, the system will calculate
the best rate that applies (probably the 24 hour rate in my case)"

If you havent booked your hotel yet or want to save and
can still cancel your hotel, a very kind Montrealer is
offering accommodation on their spare bedroom.
For privacy reasons, ping me and I will forward you to them.
The location is approximately ~30 min away from Netdev conference
via public transports - but not to worry about getting lost
your host is going to the conference as well.
The hosts are offering bed and breakfast to one person (or 2 if they
sleep in the same bed).
They have a …
[View More]cat and a dog so cannot accommodate people who are allergic
to them.

This is for folks intending to attend the IPSec tutorial:
https://www.netdevconf.org/0x12/session.html?ipsecike-tutoriallab
The hands-on involves student participation.
If you are going be running some non-linux OS on your laptop
for the Linux IPsec tutorial, please make sure to download and
install virtualbox:
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
Then please download the netdev-centos-devel.ova from
https://www.files.netdevconf.org/d/2ee3635c9d4448e3b8b9/
and bring up the virtual …
[View More]machine in virtualbox by following
the menu pointers to do
File -> Import Appliance
point it at the downloaded netdev-centos-devel.ova and go
through the steps to import appliance.
Paul Wouters(on Cc) will soon send out additional instructions to make
sure you have the latest libreswan rpms..
(If you run linux natively on the laptop, the extra indirection
through virtualbox is redundant of course!)
- login/passwd = netdev0x12/netdev0x12
- set up network as "Bridged Adapter" and over wireless network
(assuming everyone is doing this on their laptop connected over
conference wireless)
