Netlink is a fundamental kernel/user messaging interface which has evolved over the years. David Ahern and Roopa Prabhu will co-chair the Netlink Workshop.
Among topics of discussion:
- status of changes over the last few years - kernel side filtering + classical, socket cbpf, ebpf extensions - reducing notifications - strict get requests - Growth of attributes and impacts to stack memory use - Lessons learnt and ideas to use the learnings - Performance improvements - Networking APIs that need to be converted to netlink(ethtool etc)
