Hi everyone! As we look forward to Netdev 0x1A in Rome this July, I wanted to share a travel tip to help you make the most of your trip.
Rome is one of the busiest travel destinations during the summer season, and tickets for many of the city’s most iconic attractions sell out very quickly! I highly recommend booking any sightseeing activities or tours now to avoid disappointment.
Some of the most popular attractions that you may want to book in advance are:
The Colosseum & Roman Forum : https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en/categorie/singoli-1-8-persone/
https://ticketing.colosseo.it/en/categorie/singoli-1-8-persone/ Vatican Museums & the Sistine Chapel: https://www.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani/en/organizza-visita/tarif... *Dress code is enforced: shoulders and knees should be covered.*
The Pantheon: https://portale.museiitaliani.it/b2c/buyTicketless/33f77159-0acd-40c4-8524-7... *Dress code: Cover shoulders, Avoid very short shorts or skirts, Avoid crop tops or overly revealing clothing*
Castel Sant’Angelo: https://castelsantangelorome.com/tickets-castel-sant-angelo-rome/
Other attractions that cannot be booked in advance but absolutely worth seeing:
St. Peter’s Basilica: Admission to Saint Peter's Basilica is free to access with no pre-booking needed but there are some tour, such has access to the Basilica dome (which if you are scared of heights, you may want to skip), which would need to be booked in advance: https://booking.basilicasanpietro.va/en/idea/41280461/basilica https://booking.basilicasanpietro.va/en/idea/41280461/basilica*Dress code is enforced: shoulders and knees should be covered.*
Trevi Fountain - free to see but €2 fee if you want to enter the lower basin area and get close to the fountain itself to toss a coin - can not be booked in advance - https://share.google/n1szinVcnKr3Ze3xu
Spanish Steps - free to access - https://share.google/NuZELn6iw3a8Iitj9
Borghese Gardens - free to enter the gardens - https://www.sovraintendenzaroma.it/i_luoghi/ville_e_parchi_storici/ville_dei...
Basilica Papale di San Paolo Fuori le Mura (within walking distance from the conference) : free to enter - https://basilicasanpaolo.org/ *Dress code is enforced: shoulders and knees should be covered.*
Please note that 'get my guide tours' are usually readily available but often have pricing that is much higher than the attractions website ticket pricing. Booking through the attractions direct website is the best way to ensure the ticket is authentic and that you get the best price!
Happy planning!
